South Florida Women’s Basketball to Take On South Carolina In Yuengling Center in December
Bulls to face three-time NCAA champion and 2025 NCAA championship game participant
TAMPA, Fla. – June 5, 2025 – South Florida women’s basketball is set for a clash with three-time national champion South Carolina at Yuengling Center on Thursday, Dec. 18, in the second chapter of a home-and-home series. Tipoff time and network designation will be announced at a later date.
Bulls head coach Jose Fernandez continues to challenge his teams with some of the toughest schedules in the nation. The match-up with the Gamecocks marks the second announced home game for South Florida on the 2025-26 season against a program that finished the 2024-25 campaign ranked in the Top 10. South Florida previously announced a home date vs. Duke, which finished 2024-25 ranked No. 7 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll, on Nov. 20 at the Yuengling Center.
The meeting between the Bulls and Gamecocks will be the third in the series history, with South Florida seeking its first victory in the series. Last season, the Bulls fell to USC, 78-62, in December at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, S.C. The 16-point margin was South Carolina’s fourth-smallest margin of victory against a nonconference opponent last season.
The Gamecocks finished the 2024-25 season with a 35-4 record and earned their seventh NCAA Final Four appearance in program history. South Carolina fell to UConn in the championship game and finished the year ranked No. 2 in the final Associated Press Top 25 Poll.
The Bulls concluded the 2024-25 season with a 23-11 mark and 13-4 in league action, which marked Coach Fernandez’s 14th straight 19-win season and 12th 20-win season. The program earned its fourth league title and 10th NCAA Tournament berth by winning the 2025 AAC Conference Tournament Championship, defeating Tulane, North Texas, and Rice in three consecutive days.
