The Gators said nasvudenje to Slovenia and said Ciao to Venice, Italy<https://www.britannica.com/place/Venice> with an evening private boat ride<https://www.viator.com/tours/Venice/Private-Tour-Venice-Grand-Canal-Evening-Boat-Tour/d522-2495ABEX3> where they cruised along the canals, taking in the architectural masterpieces that line the Grand Canal. Once on land, players and staff took in the sights around the Basilica of Saint Mark<https://www.venice-museum.com/st-marks-basilica.php>, the Torre dell’Orologio<https://torreorologio.visitmuve.it/> and Doge’s Palace <https://palazzoducale.visitmuve.it/en/home/> before splitting off to enjoy the beautiful city for the rest of the day.

Following an eventful first day in Italy, the Gators said goodbye to Venice and began the trek to Milan<https://www.britannica.com/place/Milan-Italy> where the team will stay for the remainder of the trip (May 26-29). On the way to what’s known as the “fashion capital” of Italy, the team made a pit stop in Verona<https://www.britannica.com/place/Verona-Italy>. Located in northern Italy’s Veneto region, it’s built between the meandering Adige River and is famous for being the setting of Shakespeare’s “Romero and Juliet.” <https://www.twopartsitaly.com/blog/2017/10/21/dgz5jlroz6nr5srqh3i42z98z2i8f8> Players and staff took in the views of one of three existing Colosseum’s left in Italy, the Arena di Verona<https://www.arena.it/>, before enjoying the shops<https://www.visitverona.it/en/explore/shopping-in-verona>, the restaurants and the various popular attractions the medieval old town has to offer. After a couple of hours, the team hopped back on the bus and finished their journey to Milan, where everyone enjoyed pizza at Peperino Milano<https://www.instagram.com/peperinoemilano/reels/> and gelato at Mancuso.<https://www.instagram.com/mancusogelati/?hl=en>
