Women’s Golf – #7 Sharks continue play at NCAA National Championships

BOULDER CITY, NV. – The seventh ranked Nova Southeastern Sharks Women’s Golf team completed their second round of action at the NCAA National Championship tournament at the Boulder Creek Golf Course on Wednesday afternoon. After two rounds, the Sharks (14th/+15/295/296) are seven strokes off the cut line to advance to Match Play. Maria Torres Lobato (21st/+1/74/71) jumped 21 spots up the leader board, shooting one-under on Wednesday.

How it Happened
  • Maria Torres Lobato began her round with two straight pars and followed a bogey with her first birdie of the day. Torres added another three pars and a birdie on her front nine before the turn. Torres tallied an additional three birdies on the back nine, as well as four pars, closing the round at one-under. 
  • After bogeying her first two holes of the round, Haruka Muta settled in with four pars and a birdie on the front nine. Muta recorded three birdies across the back-nine and finished the round at two-over. 
  • Ariana Carvalho recorded a pair of birdies on the front nine, while adding four pars. Following the turn, Carvalho tallied six pars and a birdie, ending her afternoon at three-over. 
  • Lua Pousa Dacasa added five pars and a birdie across the opening nine holes. After the turn, Dacasa parred four consecutive holes and closed the day at four-over. 
  • Rosanna Halls began her round with five consecutive pars. On the back-nine, Halls added a pair of birdies, and closed the round at six-over.
