Bulls and Broncos will meet at Raymond James Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 28
TAMPA, FLA., May 13, 2025 – The 2025 South Florida Football Season presented by Tampa General Hospital will kick off in an ESPN nationally-televised clash with Boise State on Thursday, Aug. 28 at 5:30 p.m. in Raymond James Stadium, ESPN and the American Athletic Conference announced today.
The South Florida clash with Boise State will lead off two marquee games on ESPN on Aug. 28. Nebraska will take on Cincinnati in Kansas City, Mo. in a 9 p.m. kickoff on ESPN that evening. The kick times for the games were announced live on ESPN’s Up Front show on Tuesday among several Week 0 and Week 1 marquee games being broadcast on ESPN and ABC.
The 2025 season-opening clash will mark the first-ever meeting between South Florida and Boise State, which went 12-2 last year, won the Mountain West Championship, and earned a spot in the first 12-team College Football Playoff.
USF will face possibly the toughest non-conference schedule in program history with three games slated against teams in The Athletics’ “Way too Early Top 25”, including No. 11 Florida, No. 15 Miami and No. 21 Boise State. The Bulls’ other non-conference game dates were previously announced. South Florida will travel to play at Florida on Saturday, Sept. 6, and at Miami on Saturday, Sept. 13, before returning to Tampa to face South Carolina State on Saturday, Sept. 20, in Raymond James Stadium. South Florida will begin American Athletic Conference play with back-to-back Friday night, showcase games. USF will open play in The American vs. Charlotte on Friday, Oct. 3 in Raymond James Stadium before a Friday night road game at North Texas on Friday, Oct. 10.
