TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – NaShawn Tyson will represent Florida Atlantic men’s golf at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional beginning Monday at Seminole Legacy Golf Club. It’s the third consecutive year the Owls have had an individual qualify for postseason.
The format is 54 holes of stroke play beginning Monday and concluding Wednesday. The top five teams and the top individual not on those teams will advance to the NCAA National Championship at Omni La Costa in Carlsbad, California, May 23-28.
Tyson Year in Review
Tyson earned an at-large bid as an individual based on his official Clippd Division I ranking. The sophomore enters the postseason ranked No. 177. Tyson finished inside the Top 25 in seven of the 10 events he competed in this season. He came into the AAC Championship playing his best golf with a win and a runner-up in his previous two starts. Tyson recorded a T21 at the AAC Championship, enough to keep him inside the Top 200 in the Division I rankings. The native of Stuart, Fla., led the Owls with a 71.55 season scoring average.
The Course
Seminole Legacy Golf Club will play as a par 72 at 7.520 yards.
The Field
The field includes 14 teams and 90 individuals. Ole Miss is the field’s highest-ranked team at No. 3, and the Rebels also have the highest-ranked individual in No. 3 Michael La Sasso. Florida State’s Luke Clanton is No. 5. Clanton has two Top 20 finishes in five events on the PGA Tour this season.

Real-time live scoring can be followed on Clippd Scoreboard. Tyson will begin his opening round at 9:53 a.m. on Monday, paired with Davidson’s Will Davis and Florida A&M’s Emilio Garcia.
