BASE | Owls Square off with USF in Final Home Weekend

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic baseball hosts USF for a three-game weekend series beginning Friday at 6:35 p.m. on ESPN+. Prior to Saturday’s 4 p.m. first pitch, this year’s 12 seniors will be recognized in a presentation beginning at 3:30. Sunday’s finale between the Owls (32-16, 12-9) and the Bulls (25-21, 12-9) is scheduled for a noon start.
WEEKEND PROMOTIONS
Sunday is the season’s final trading card giveaway. The featured player this week is shortstop Brando Leroux. After the game, kids can run the bases and collect autographs from the players.
OWLS IN REVIEW
The Owls recorded their second shutout of the season on Tuesday against Florida Gulf Coast. Four pitchers combined to hold the Eagles to five hits. Dylan LaPointe hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning to account for the game’s only runs.
FAU and USF enter this weekend in a three-way tie for second place in the American Athletic Conference. Charlotte, whom USF won two of three games against in mid-April, is also part of that tie with six games remaining in the regular season.

USF snapped a four-game losing streak with a road victory at Florida on Tuesday. The Bulls were swept by UTSA at home last weekend.
OPPONENT HISTORY
Florida Atlantic won two of the three games in Tampa last season. The Owls also won the season series in 2023 before the sides were in the same conference.
WHAT’S NEXT
The Owls close out the non-conference portion of the regular season with one final meeting against FGCU on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
