 Owls Continue APR Success; Six Teams Record Highest APR5/6/2025 | GeneralBOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic Athletics continued to achieve high Academic Progress Rate (APR) numbers in the 2023-24 academic year, as announced by the NCAA. Three teams achieved a perfect score of 1,000: women’s cross country, women’s golf and volleyball. This marks the fourth consecutive academic year in which these three reached the maximum score. FAU joined each of the other 15 institutions from the American Athletic Conference in earning the “academic unit” financial distribution from the NCAA, representing the league’s overall APR success. Several additional Owl teams received near-perfect scores and ranked among the top of the AAC: baseball (993, second in the AAC), men’s basketball (990, second), women’s swimming & diving (992, third), beach volleyball (994, fourth), women’s track & field (994, fourth), men’s tennis (984, fifth) and women’s soccer (995, sixth).Women’s soccer’s 995 APR was its highest recorded since the NCAA began tracking the metric in 2004-05. Women’s cross country, women’s golf, volleyball, baseball and men’s basketball also tied their highest-recorded APR. APR measures eligibility, graduation and retention each semester or academic term and provides a clear picture of the academic performance for each team in every sport. All teams must meet an academic threshold of 930 to qualify for the postseason and can face penalties for continued low academic performance. |
