A new hospital is coming to the western Broward County area.
Baptist Health is in the process of planning a new seven story hospital next to the Sawgrass Expressway in Sunrise. This new hospital will serve a region that is seeing thousands of new residents.
The hospital will be seven stories with 100 beds and a 25-bay emergency department. The hospital will be fully integrated with Baptist Health’s specialty to services, which includes cancer care, orthopedic care, cardiovascular care and brain and spinal care, according to Gina Halley-Wright, spokesperson for Baptist Health.
The new hospital will be about two miles north of the Amerant Bank Arena. Broward County has granted approval and will cost about $500 million to build.
Also, in the community of Metropica, a $1.5 billion large project on 65 acres between the Amerant arena the Sawgrass Mills mall is well underway. This major project is received approval for 3,300 residential units, 650,000 square feet of office space and 485,000 square feet of retail and commercial space.
