INDIANAPOLIS, IN. – The NCAA announced the qualifiers for the NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championship on Monday evening. The seventh-ranked Nova Southeastern University Women’s Golf team was selected as the fifth-seed from the South Region in the NCAA South/Southeast Regional. The tournament will be played at the Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville, GA., from May 5-7.
The South/Southeast Regional features 13 programs ranked inside the top 25, making this tournament the deepest in the NCAA Regional round. Joining the Sharks in the NCAA South/Southeast Regional Tournament will be No. 1 Anderson (SC), No. 2 Wingate, No. 3 Flagler, No. 6 Lynn, No. 12 Rollins, No. 13 Lee, No. 14 Tampa, No. 15 North Georgia, No. 16 Saint Leo, No. 18 Lander, No. 20 Palm Beach Atlantic, No. 23 Florida Southern, No. 25 West Florida, Lincoln Memorial, Barry, Carson-Newman, and Erskine.
Nova Southeastern enters the 2025 NCAA South/Southeast Regional tournament having won three of their last four tournaments, including having two different individual winners. Haruka Muta earned the first victory of her collegiate career at the Space Coast Women’s Collegiate Championship, finishing the tournament four-under, guiding NSU to the win as three Sharks women’s golfers placed amongst the top four finishes. Lua Pousa Dacasa followed with her first win of the season at the Barry Invitational, guiding NSU to the team’s second consecutive victory. The Sharks added their third win of the season by capturing the program’s seventh Sunshine State Conference Championship. During the SSC Championship, Ariana Carvalho (2nd/+2), Dacasa (T4/+4), Maria Torres Lobato (T4/+4) and Haruka (T10/+9) all placed within the top 10 in the standings for NSU.
