FAU, the only team in the nation and the first team in school history to finish the regular season undefeated, has faced ODU three times in program history with the Lions winning each. The last matchup was back on April 24, 2021 at the CUSA Championship. FAU made its first appearance in the NCAA Championship in 2003 and its last was in 2024. The Owls are one of four American Athletic Conference teams to make the 2025 field of 64. ![]() Three Owls have tallied double-digit wins with sophomore Malwina Rowinska recording a 14-1 record during the dual season and a 15-4 record overall. Rowinska has dominated court four, dropping just one dual match to the only opponent that has forced a third set. Senior Lexi Silna enters the NCAA tournament with a 12-0 dual match record and a 13-0 record in 2024-25. She has clinched the match several times this season, including their most recent win over in-state foe FIU. It was the first time FAU has defeated fellow NCAA tournament participant FIU since 2003, coincidentally the first year the Owls made the NCAA Tournament. Sophomore Panna Bartha, a 2024 All-AAC honoree and AAC Freshman of the Year, continues with great play. Bartha holds a dual match record of 11-4 primarily playing court two but has moved to court one in recent weeks. The Owls’ success begins with strong doubles play. The duo of Rowinska and Lara Smejkal are 14-2 in dual matches, primarily playing court one. The duo of Silna and Bartha also hold a double-digit winning record at 11-3.
