Charlotte’s Chaisilprungruang Earns 2025 American Women’s Golf Top Awards

IRVING, Texas – Charlotte freshman Pinky Chaisilprungruang earned the top two player honors for the season as part of the 2025 American Athletic Conference women’s golf awards that were announced by the league on Tuesday, being voted the Golf Player of the Year and the Freshman of the Year.  Tulsa’s Mike Roters was named Coach of the Year.  Both major player awards and American Coach of the Year were voted on by the conference’s 11 women’s golf head coaches.

Chaisilprungruang became the first Charlotte player to be named American Golf Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year. She also becomes just the second player in conference history to win both Freshman of the Year and Golf Player of the Year, joining UCF’s Ashley Holder in 2014. Chaisilprungruang is the highest ranked player in the conference, ranking No. 47 in the nation in the Clippd rankings.  She earned two victories, winning the City of Oaks Collegiate and Daniel Island Invitational. She finished in the top three at four tournaments. Chaisilprungruang held an average score of 71.2.

In his first season in Tulsa, Roters has been named The American Coach of the Year, marking back-to-back years a Tulsa coach has been named Coach of the Year, and the third time overall (2021, 2024). Roters led the Golden Hurricane to their second American Athletic Conference Women’s Golf Championship (2021), winning by 21 strokes. The Golden Hurricane held two top three finishers in Romaine Masserey and Lovisa Gunnar, with Massery winning the individual title. Jennifer Roller (6th place) and Sydney Seigel (7th place) both finished in the top 10 and earned all-conference honors. The Golden Hurricane are ranked 57th in the Clippd rankings.

A total of 12 players from six member institutions brought home all-conference accolades. All-conference recognition is awarded to the top 10 players from The American in the Clippd national individual player rankings and to any other players who finished among the top seven and ties at the 2025 American Women’s Golf Championship not among that ranked group. Tulsa led the way with four honorees, while North Texas had three honorees, Charlotte had two honorees, and Florida Atlantic, South Florida and Wichita State each had one.
