Braun is one of four American Athletic Pitchers to be named to the watchlist
OVERLAND PARK, Kansas, April 18, 2025 – The University of South Florida baseball’s LHP Corey Braunis one of 54 of the nation’s best hurlers to be named to the 2025 College Baseball Hall of Fame National Pitcher of the Year Watchlist.
Braun has earned a start in nine games, posting a 5-2 record and a 2.39 ERA. He leads South Florida with 57 strikeouts and ranks fifth in the conference. On March 28, Braun pitched his first complete game shutout against Tulane. In conference play, the Seminole, Fla., native has an ERA of 1.47, tied for first. In the nation, he ranks in the top 100 in six statistical categories: 29th in complete games (1), 30th in hits allowed per nine innings (5.97), 36th in WHIP (0.98), 41st in ERA (2.39), 62nd in victories (5), and 69th in strikeouts (57).

About the College Baseball Hall of Fame
Each year, more than 190 representatives nationwide vote on the College Baseball Hall of Fame induction class. The voting body is comprised of national and regional college baseball media, active and retired coaches, former players, former inductees, college baseball historians and members of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) collegiate baseball committee. The College Baseball Hall of Fame inducted its first class in 2006. Since that time, 165 players, coaches, umpires, administrators and contributors have been selected for induction. The South Florida Baseball program played its first season in 1966 and will enter its 60th campaign in 2025. Mitch Hannahs was named South Florida’s eighth head coach in program history on June 8, 2024, after compiling 355 wins over 11 seasons at Indiana State. The 2023 ABCA NCAA DI Midwest Region Coach of the Year guided the Sycamores to six conference titles and five NCAA Regionals. The Bulls have made 14 NCAA Tournament appearances and earned their first-ever Super Regional berth in 2021.
