SARASOTA, Fla. – The University of Miami rowing team began competition at the Big Ten Invitational in Sarasota, Florida, on Friday, with a strong performance from the first varsity eight highlighting the day for the Hurricanes.
Miami had six boats competing in the event, beginning with the second varsity eight who earned a fifth-place finish. Miami’s first varsity four and second varsity four each took fifth-place in their respective heats, while the third varsity eight and fourth varsity eight each took fourth-place.
Miami’s first varsity eight had a strong showing to highlight the day, as they earned a third-place finish, marking the only top-three finish of the day.
Miami will return to action Saturday morning to close out the Big Ten Invitational.
