BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – Florida Atlantic women’s golf posted its best conference tournament finish in program history on Wednesday at the American Athletic Conference Championship. A team score of 284 in the final round was the Owls’ lowest of the season and vaulted them up three spots on the leaderboard into third place.

Sophomore Charlotte Perkins led the way, finishing in a tie for third individually.
The Owls’ leader in scoring average was her usual steady self on Wednesday, signing for a round of 71 (-1) that included two birdies and just one bogey.
Perkins finished at -3, four shots behind Tulsa’s Romaine Masserey at the top of the leaderboard.
Freshman Nancy Cox also delivered a solid round of even-par 72.Cox finished tied for ninth at +1.Cox’s freshman classmate Maddie Rathjen made one of Wednesday’s biggest moves up the standings.
Rathjen’s 69 (-3) tied for the lowest round of the day in the 52-player field and vaulted her up nine spots into a tie for 11th.After going out in 37 (+1), the freshman made four birdies on her final nine holes.
She capped off a career-best finish with a chip-in birdie from just in front of the green on the final hole.
