BOULDER, Colo. – The fourth-ranked Florida lacrosse team (11-2, 2-0 Big 12) will take on the Colorado Buffaloes (6-5, 2-0 Big 12) on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET at Prentup Field.
It will be the fifth meeting all-time between the Buffaloes and the Gators, with Florida leading the all-time series 4-0. The two teams last squared off on Feb. 8, 2020 in Gainesville, where the Gators won by a score of 11-10. UF owns a 1-0 record all-time in Boulder, defeating Colorado 16-9 on Feb. 9, 2019 by a 16-9 margin.
The Gators are coming off their eighth consecutive win, as they defeated Jacksonville on the road 17-7 on Wednesday evening. Gianna Monaco (five goals, two assists), Clark Hamilton (four goals, one assist) and Jordan Basso (three goals, two assists) combined for 17 of the Gators 26 points, as UF led by as many as 11 goals.
Three 30 Goal Scorer
The Gators are the only team in the Big 12 to have three or more players with 30 or more goals, as Monaco (41), Hamilton (35) and Kaitlyn Davies (30) all have eclipsed 30 goals this season. Monaco has mounted nine hat-tricks, Hamilton has tallied eight and Davies has logged five.
Milestone Catchers
Monaco recorded her 100th career point and Basso totaled her 400th career point in UF’s last game on Wednesday. Both players recorded it on the same play in the second quarter, when Basso found Monaco for a goal. Monaco has spent her whole career with UF and Basso is a graduate transfer from Gettysburg College.
The Net is Getting Smaller
Elyse Finnelle and Susan Radebaugh combined for 13 saves last game, saving a season high 65 percent of shots on target (13-for-20). Finnelle tied a season high with nine and Radebaugh set a career high with four.
Historic Hahn
Redshirt Freshman Frannie Hahn has tallied 37 assists through 13 games this season, setting a new freshman assists record, previously set in 2022. Hahn has dished out an assist in every game this season, including logging two or more in seven consecutive games and 10 times overall. Her 2.85 assists per game ranks 12th nationally.
Big 12, Big Gators
The Gators are 2-0 in Big 12 play this season, winning by an average margin of 9.00 goals per game. Florida is averaging 18.5 goals and 10 assists per game in Big 12 play this season. The Buffaloes are also 2-0 in the Big 12, winning by an average margin of 2.5 goals per game across two contests.
Road Warriors
Along with winning eight consecutive games overall, the Gators are 7-0 on the road this season and have won 16 consecutive true road games overall. Five of Florida’s seven road games this season have come by five or more goals.
