The sophomore logged one ground ball and one caused turnover in a 1-0 week for Gator’s lacrosse.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida lacrosse sophomore defender Ashley Dyer earned Big 12 Defender of the Week, announced Tuesday afternoon. The Gators went 1-0 this past week, with a 21-9 victory over San Diego State last Saturday.
Dyer scooped one ground ball and caused one turnover, holding San Diego State’s leading scorer Bella Tan to one goal. Tan came into the game with eight hat-tricks in 12 previous games.
The Elkridge, Md. native ranks first on the team in ground balls (22) and second in caused turnovers (13), through 13 games and 13 starts. Dyer has six games with two or more ground balls and four games with two or more caused turnovers, including a ground ball in 10 consecutive games and a caused turnover in six consecutive games.
