FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – DOWN GOES NUMBER ONE! The 16th-ranked Nova Southeastern Softball team took down the #1 ranked Tampa Spartans in Friday night’s SSC Series Opener at the NSU Softball Stadium, snapping the Spartans 28-game win streak. An absolute pitching clinic by Gracelyn Wallace led the Sharks to victory as she earned the shutout and 10 strikeouts.

BOT 4th – NSU broke through for the game’s only run. After Tori Copeland walked, Lauren Margolis singled, and with two outs, Abbey Moore came up clutch, smashing an RBI double to center, putting the Sharks ahead 1-0.
TOP 6th – Tampa tried to rally, as Lindsey Kiester walked and stole second, but Wallace shut the door with another strikeout to end the threat.
TOP 7th – Wallace finished her complete-game shutout in style, striking out Ava Russo, then forcing two quick flyouts to seal NSU’s victory.
