Virginia Beach, Va. – Two American Athletic Conference athletes earn First Team All-American honors at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships held at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va. on March 15.
East Carolina’s freshman sprinter Kelly Ufodiama finished in 8th place in the women’s 200-meter dash with a time of 23.19 seconds to earn first team honors. She becomes the first East Carolina athlete to earn first team honors since Avion Jones in 2015 and is the first female athlete since Tynita Butts in 2013.
South Florida’s Abdul-Rasheed Saminu finished one spot off the podium in 4th place in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.53 seconds to earn first team honors. His time set a new program record for a second straight day.
For the weekend, The American captured six All-America honors, including three first team.
