FORT WORTH, Texas – March. 11, 2025 – South Florida women’s basketball (22-10) topped North Texas (24-8), 58-48, in the AAC Tournament Semifinals at Dickies Arena on Tuesday night. USF will face Rice in the AAC Championship tomorrow night (Wednesday, Mar. 12) at 7 p.m. EST. The action will air live on ESPNU and Bulls Unlimited.
Sophomore guard Vittoria Blasigh (13 points), junior forward Carla Brito (11 points), and graduate guard Mama Dembele (11 points, five assists) combined for 35 of USF’s points. Senior forward L’or Mputu crashed the glass with a career-best 21 rebound performance.
Tommisha Lampkin led North Texas with a 10-point and 14-rebound double-double performance.
HOW THE GAME WAS DECIDED
The Bulls shot 50 percent (8-16) from the field in the first quarter, with Sammie Puisis scoring seven points on 3-of-4 shooting. South Florida held the Mean Green (24-8) scoreless for 3:15 in the first and started the second quarter with a 20-10 lead. A North Texas scoring drought of 6:45 in the second quarter gave South Florida a lead of 15 points at halftime (31-16). The Mean Green went on an 11-0 run, with Tommisha Lampkin scoring six points, to cut the lead to four points (33-29) in the third quarter. After North Texas cut the lead to one point (39-38), South Florida used an 8-0 run to take a nine-point lead in the fourth.

- The Bulls now hold a record of 20-10 in the AAC Tournament.
- South Florida now advances to the AAC Tournament Championship Game for the seventh time in program history (USF is 1-5 in the AAC Championship).
- USF is the winner of 11 of their last 13 contests.
- The Bulls now hold a 3-2 lead in the all-time series against the Mean Green.
- Mputu’s 21 rebounds ranks as the fifth most by an individual in a single game in program history, and the first 20+ rebound performance since Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu had 21 boards vs. Georgia Tech (Nov. 25, 2025).
- Dembele (five assists) has recorded 22 games this season with five or more assists.
