Veteran diver picks up first ACC medal of career
GREENSBORO, N.C – Chiara Pellacani’s gold medal performance on the 3-meter springboard highlighted Miami’s third day of competition at the 2025 ACC Swimming & Diving Championships.
Pellacani picked up the first ACC gold medal of her career with a dominant showing in the women’s 3-meter.
Pellacani, who took bronze in the women’s 1-meter earlier in the week, finished with a final score of 403.15 to secure an ACC gold.
The Italy native and two-time Olympian was not the only Hurricane who put on a show Saturday.
Veteran diver Mia Vallée added to her trophy cabinet with a bronze medal of her own, taking third place with a score of 367.20. Vallée was among the top eight finishers in the morning’s preliminary round to secure her spot in the night’s final.
In addition to Miami’s stellar showing on the boards, the Hurricanes also impressed in between the lanes Thursday.
Giulia Carvalho qualified for the ‘A’ final of her signature event, the 100-yard butterfly, where she took sixth overall with a time of 50.91 to set a new Miami program record.
Marissa Inouye etched her own name into Miami’s record book with a time of 4:16.96 in the 400-yard IM in the morning’s preliminary round to secure her spot in the night’s finals.
The Hurricanes continue their run at the 2025 ACC Championships Friday in Greensboro.
