Walker Named ONE OF Oscar Robertson Trophy National Players of the Week

East Carolina’s C.J. Walker was named one of the five Oscar Robertson Trophy National Players of the Week on February 11 after averaging 25.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in games against Rice and UTSA.

Memphis leads Division I in 3-point percentage at 40.3 percent, led by Tyrese Hunter, who is third in The American at 41.7 percent from behind the arc.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINE

UAB’s Yaxel Lendeborg is tied for fourth in Division I with 15 double-doubles on the season. He is now second all-time in The American with 34 career double-doubles. He is two behind Dedric Lawson of Memphis (2015-17).

Lendeborg is one of two players in Division I (Duke’s Connor Flagg) that leads his team in points (17.6), rebounds (10.5), assists (4.3), steals (1.6) and blocks (1.7).

CLAMPING DOWN ON DEFENSE

North Texas ranks third in Division I in scoring defense at 59.4 points per game allowed and leads The American in scoring margin with +9.2 points per contest.

GETTING TO THE LINE

UTSA has converted 81.7 percent of their free throws this season, second in Division I. Temple has made 19.7 free throws per game, fourth in Division I, followed by Charlotte in 10th (18.1).

North Texas’ Atin Wright is shooting 95.4 percent from the line, second in Division I. Memphis’ PJ Haggerty has made the fourth-most free throws in Division I this season with 147 and ranks fifth in attempts at 185.
