IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball awards for the week ending Sunday, February 9.
Player of the Week
Amiya Joyner, Jr., F, East Carolina
Joyner averaged 21.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in a pair of wins for the Pirates, defeating UAB and Tulsa. She recorded her 9th double-double of the season with a 22 point, 11 rebound performance against UAB.
Freshman of the Week
Devin Hagemann, Fr., G, East Carolina
Hagemann was a stat-stuffer, averaging 10 points, 6.5 assists 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals in two wins for East Carolina. Her 25 assists over the past four games is the most for a players since 2017-18.
Honorable Mention
Malia Fisher, Sr., F, Rice
Fisher scored a career-high 32 points on 55 percent shooting from the field. She went 8-for-11 from the charity stripe.
Sammie Puisis, Gr., G, South Florida
Puisis helped the Bull improve their winning streak to five games with a 15 point performance in the win over Temple.
Idara Udo, So., F, UTSA
Udo averaged a double-double with 12.5 points and 11 rebounds in wins over North Texas and Wichita State.
Sherese Pittman, Sr., F, Tulane
Pittman averaged 20 points, 9.5 rebounds and three assists in a pair of games for the Green Wave.
Delanie Crawford, Sr., G, Tulsa
Crawford averaged 23.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2 assists in two road games for the Golden Hurricane.
