GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida placed 137 student-athletes on the 2024 Southeastern Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll, announced Thursday by league commissioner Greg Sankey.
The 2024 SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2024 spring, summer and fall terms.
Florida’s football team reset its league record with 80 on the 2024 list. This is the fourth time since 2020 Gators raised the league’s record for football honorees – 2023 (75), 2022 (62) and 2020 (55).
Florida’s women’s cross country, which took 12th at the NCAA Championships, placed nine on the list.
Gator volleyball, which advanced to 2024 NCAA Regional play, placed 12 on the SEC Academic Honor Roll – just one away from its record set last year.
Florida’s soccer team matched its all-time high with 24 earning a spot on the SEC Academic Honor Roll. Men’s cross country placed 12 on the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
Four earned 4.0 grade point averages – Orlando Cicilioni (cross country), Eoin McNally (cross country), Taylor Parks (volleyball) and Justin Pelic (football).
To be recognized to the SEC Academic Honor Roll, each student-athlete must 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letterwinner or have participated on a varsity team for two years if non-scholarship; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport’s entire NCAA Championship segment.
