connected with DeVonta Smith for a 47-yard strike, setting up a short touchdown run by
Hurts to give Philadelphia an early 7-0 lead. The defense followed with a statement,
forcing a quick three-and-out as the sold-out crowd at The Linc roared its approval.
By the end of the first quarter, the Eagles had built a 14-3 lead, thanks to a 12-yard
touchdown catch by A.J. Brown, who powered through two defenders at the goal line.

The Philadelphia Eagles have secured their place in Super Bowl LIX with a
commanding 55-23 victory over the Washington Commanders in the NFC
Championship Game at Lincoln Financial Field. This win marks the Eagles’ fifth Super
Bowl appearance in franchise history.
Offensive Dominance
Running back Saquon Barkley was a standout performer, amassing 118 yards and
three touchdowns on 15 carries. His explosive play was evident from the outset, with a
60-yard touchdown run on his first touch.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts, despite managing a knee injury, delivered a stellar
performance. He threw for 246 yards and a touchdown, and added three rushing
touchdowns, showcasing his dual-threat capabilities.
Wide receiver A.J. Brown also made significant contributions, recording six receptions
for 96 yards and a touchdown.
Defensive Prowess
The Eagles’ defense played a crucial role, forcing multiple turnovers that shifted the
game’s momentum. Safety Reed Blankenship recovered a fumble early in the game,
setting up a touchdown drive.
Commanders’ Struggles
Washington’s rookie quarterback, Jayden Daniels, showed promise by throwing for 255
yards and scoring two touchdowns. However, the team’s four turnovers proved costly.
Historic Achievement
The Eagles’ 55 points set a new NFL record for the most points scored in a conference
championship game.
With this victory, the Eagles advance to Super Bowl LIX, where they will face the
Kansas City Chiefs in a rematch of Super Bowl LVII played in Arizona two years ago.
The Super Bowl is scheduled for February 9 in New Orleans.
