MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference announced the 2025 Women’s Tennis preseason coaches’ poll on Wednesday morning. No. 2 Nova Southeastern, the reigning NCAA Division II national champions, were second in the league and received two first place votes.
Under the direction of Head Coach Doug Neagle, the Sharks won a program record 27 matches during the 2024 season, culminating in the team’s first national title in which Nova Southeastern defeated SSC rival Barry (4-2). NSU returns three members of the national championship team – Ita Habekovic, Sofia Shing, and Julia Moraes – and welcomed new additions in Maya Benaich, Sofia Carpi, Isabella Ciancaglini, Noemie Dadoun, Kristyna Hranacova, Priscila Janikian, and Amina Sagadiyeva.
No. 2 Nova Southeastern begins the 2025 season on February 1st, hosting Ave Maria, at the NSU Tennis Complex. Sunshine State Conference begins against Rollins on February 8th. To stay up-to-date Sharks Tennis, be sure to follow on Instagram & X at NSU_WTennis.
