The project limits are on Floranada Road/Northeast 45th Street from Northeast 44th Place to Northeast 13th Avenue and from Northeast 18th Avenue to US 1/North Federal Highway. This initiative is part of a broader citywide effort to improve safety, connectivity, and aesthetics along key corridors throughout Oakland Park. The project includes various enhancements.
New sidewalks on both sides of the road where missing, from N. Dixie Highway to NE 12th Terrace and NE 18th Avenue to Federal Highway.
Repaving of the roadway where the new sidewalks are constructed and upgraded curb ramps to improve accessibility.
Drainage improvements to ensure long-term infrastructure resilience and Improved pedestrian signalization and lighting at the intersection of US 1 for enhanced safety and visibility.
Construction is scheduled to begin in late January and is expected to be completed before the end of the year. Lane closures may be in effect during construction. FDOT held an open house in August and December 2024 to share details of the project with the community.
