USF Women’s Hoops Invited to Play in Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis

The Bulls are one of eight teams, including Oregon, Oklahoma South Carolina and Syracuse, that make up the elite inaugural field.

TAMPA (Dec. 5, 2019) – The University of South Florida women’s basketball team has been invited to take part in the inaugural Bay Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in Paradise Island, Bahamas at the Atlantis Paradise Island Hotel.

The tournament will be held Nov. 21-23, 2020, immediately preceding the men’s tournament that runs each year through the Thanksgiving holiday as one of the premier events on the early college basketball schedule.
 
“Just like every year, we want to give ourselves great opportunities to play quality opponents in November and December,” said USF head coach Jose Fernandez. “We are very excited to take part in the first Battle 4 Atlantis for women.”
 
The Bulls will be joined by a host of collegiate women’s basketball powers, including current No. 3 Oregon, No. 6 South Carolina, Syracuse, Central Michigan, Marquette, Minnesota and Oklahoma. Opponents, game times and additional tournament details will be announced at a later date.

USF notched its eighth consecutive 19-win season and eighth straight postseason appearance in 2018-19. The Bulls celebrated two all-conference honorees in Enna Pehadzic and Sydni Harvey.

USF has made 15 postseason tournament appearances and had six NCAA Tournament berths in head coach Jose Fernandez’s 19 seasons. The all-time winningest coach in program history, Fernandez has guided USF to nine 20-win seasons, two WNIT final four appearances, the 2009 WNIT championship and won more than 350 games.
