A record 435 student-athletes earned a 3.0 GPA or higher this past semester.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – University of Florida student-athletes once again raised the academic bar this past semester as numerous sports set all-time grade point average highs for the fall 2024 term.
A record 435 student-athletes earned a 3.0 GPA or higher, resetting the previous high for the third-straight semester (413 in Spring 2024, 401 in Fall 2023). Florida also saw 18 programs post a cumulative GPA above 3.0 highlighted by 16 that earned a 3.0 for the fall term.
Collectively, UF student-athletes finished with a 3.39 semester GPA to set yet another academic record. That was powered by new term and cumulative GPA highs from the men’s teams, with the women’s squad also finishing with a record 3.46 cumulative GPA.
Through The <http://floridagators.com/sports/2023/5/1/gators-experience.aspx> Gators Experience program<https://floridagators.com/sports/2023/5/1/gators-experience.aspx>, all 21 sports logged 1,095 community service hours from 81 volunteer opportunities benefiting 32 organizations in the Fall semester. In particular, UF softball collected over 1,300 pounds of food during its fall ball games with all donations going to the Bread of the Mighty Food Bank.
Many Gators also completed their degrees this fall, as 21 student-athletes graduated with a bachelor’s degrees while another eight earned a master’s.
Gators Classroom Success Numbers
An astounding nine programs set GPA records this past semester: baseball (3.24), men’s cross country (3.64), football (3.37), men’s golf (3.41), men’s swimming & diving (3.44), men’s track & field (3.08), gymnastics (3.71), women’s golf (3.70) and lacrosse (3.61).
