FB | Three Owls Earn All AAC Honors

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Three Florida Atlantic football players were recognized as All-American Athletic Conference performers on Tuesday, as announced by the league. The three were third-team selections.
CJ Campbell Jr, a redshirt junior running back from Kaplan, Louisiana, led the Owls with 844 rushing yards on 165 carries and ended the 2024 season second in receiving with 466 yards and three scores via a team-leading 40 catches. Campbell’s two biggest games came in the last two games of the year, recording 150 rushing yards on 21 carries versus Charlotte. It was his second 100+ rushing game of 2024. Campbell had 218 all-purpose yards in the Owls’ season-ending victory over Tulsa. He ran for 100 yards on 15 carries and collected four passes equating to 118 yards, including a 78-yard scoring play.CJ CampbellCJ Heard, a true freshman safety from Atlanta, Georgia, represented the Owls’ defense as a third-team All-AAC selection. Heard recorded three double-digit tackling performances and ended his rookie season atop all Owl tacklers with 82. For much of 2024, he led the nation’s true freshmen in the same category. Heard can also add a national ranking of No. 16 in fumbles recovered to his playing resume.CJ HeardLoga Lupo, a redshirt junior punter from Southwest Ranches, Florida, and nearby St. Thomas Aquinas High School, rounds out the 2024 FAU selections. Lupo ended his three-year career as an Owl with 101 punts for 4466 yards, an average of 44.2 yards per punt, and recorded a long of 71 yards. He booted 29 that were above the 50-yard plateau. In 2024, Lupo punted 47 times for 2,092 yards and had a personal season-high of 15 of 50 or more yards.
