American Athletic Conference Announces Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball awards for the week ending Sunday, December 1.

Player of the Week

Jordyn Jenkins, R-Sr., G/F, UTSA

Jenkins led the Roadrunners to a pair of road wins against UNC Greensboro and Towson. The redshirt senior average 16 points on 52 percent shooting, whiling adding 5.5 rebound per game.

Freshman of the Week

Kendall Sneed, Fr., G, Tulane

Sneed led the Green Wave to an 83-81 win over Florida, recording her second consecutive double-double with 22 points and 11 assists. She added seven rebounds in the win.

Honorable Mention

Mya Perry, Jr., G, Florida Atlantic

Perry led the Owls with 12.5 points per game on 39 percent shooting in games against Manhattan and Austin Peay.

Dominique Ennis, Jr., G, Rice

Ennis averaged 13 points for the Owls in the Cancun Challenge. She was named to the Riviera Tournament All-Tournament Team.

Sammie Puisis, Gr., G, South Florida

Puisis averaged a team-leading 14.5 points per game against Mississippi State and TCU in the Cayman Islands Classic.

Kaylah Turner, So., G, Temple

Turner averaged 16 points in games against Princeton and LaSalle. She scored a career-high 17 points in the win over La Salle.

Delanie Crawford, Sr., G, Tulsa

Crawford scored 25 points and came down with 13 rebounds in the Golden Hurricane win over Chicago State.
