UF WBK: Florida Ends Road Stretch with Monday Matchup Against Hofstra

After a challenging run on the road, Florida will return home for a Monday night contest against the Hofstra Pride. The game will tip-off at 7 p.m. inside the O’Dome and be streamed on SECN+.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -The Gators are set to return home and face the Hofstra Pride at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center on Monday night. The 7 p.m. contest will mark Florida’s eighth appearance in the 2024-25 non-conference slate.

Florida currently holds a 3-4 record and will host The Pride after playing three games on the road. The Gators last time out was against James Madison on Friday, Nov. 28, falling 77-72 at the St. Pete Showcase.

GATOR TIES:
Hofstra head coach, Danielle Santos Atkinson, is a Florida alum and will be returning to the Swamp after graduating in 2006. Santos Atkinson played for the Gators from 2002-2006 and made three post-season appearances while in Gainesville.

Coach Santos Atkinson closed out her career as a Gator recording 831 points, 265 assists, 162 steals, and 80 three-pointers. In the Florida record book, she ranks in the top 20 for both assist distribution and made three-pointers. Monday’s contest will mark Santos Atkinson’s first time matching up against her alma mater as the opposing team’s head coach.

GATORS x HOFSTRA HISTORY:
Florida and Hofstra have met once in their respective history. The sole matchup ended with a 73-60 Gators victory on Dec. 29, 1988.

The Pride’s trip to Gainesville on Monday will be the first, as the only meeting between Hofstra and Florida was on neutral ground in Philadelphia, PA at the LaSalle Invitational.
