SCOUTING MANHATTAN Manhattan enters this weekend’s Thanksgiving Classic at 5-1 overall and is currently riding a five-game winning streak. The Jaspers are led by Petra Juric, averaging a team-leading 13.6 points per game, while Nitzan Amar and Hana Muhl are both ranked second on the team, averaging 11.8 points per game. Amar is the Jaspers’ assists leader, dishing out a team-leading 5.7 assists per game. Muhl leads Manhattan on the glass, collecting a team-best 6.8 boards per contest, while Leyla Ozturk and Juric rank second and third on the team, tallying 6.5 and 6.4 rebounds per contest, respectively. Muhl also leads the Jaspers in steals, collecting 1.5 steals per game. Manhattan’s blocks leader is Ozturk, boasting a team-leading 2.3 blocks per game. SERIES HISTORY Manhattan leads the series between the Owls and the Jaspers, winning the only previous meeting between the two teams 75-70 on Nov. 29, 2003, in Boca Raton. SCOUTING AUSTIN PEAY Austin Peay enters this weekend’s Thanksgiving Classic at 2-3 overall and has won two of their last three contests, earning wins over Indiana State, 74-56, and Mercer, 66-53. The Governors are led offensively by Sa’Mya Wyatt and La’Nya Foster, averaging 13.4 and 10.2 points per game, respectively. Foster also leads the Govs on the glass, averaging 6.2 boards per game, and in blocks, averaging 2.0 blocks per game, and is tied for the team lead in steals, tallying 1.2 steals per game. Anovia Sheals leads the Governors in assists, dishing out 2.2 assists per game. SERIES HISTORY Sunday marks the first all-time meeting between Florida Atlantic and Austin Peay. LAST TIME OUT: AT FIU The Owls picked up their first road win of the season this past Saturday, earning a 62-52 win over the FIU Panthers in Miami. Mya Perry led the Owls with a season-high 22 points, shooting 62 percent (8-of-13) from the field and 67 percent (6-of-9) from 3-point range. She also added four rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and a steal. Maria Myklebust also registered double figures for the Owls, turning in a season-high 11 points, shooting 67 percent (4-of-6) from the field and 60 percent (3-of-5) from 3-point range to go along with five boards. Stefanie Ingram dished out a team-leading eight assists to go along with five points, a rebound, and a steal. Alana Rouser finished with a team-leading six rebounds while also posting eight points, two blocks, two steals, and an assist in the win.
