ATHENS, Ga. – For the second-consecutive year, the No. 4/6 Florida swimming and diving teams came out with a midseason sweep at the Georgia Fall Invitational. Throughout the three days of competition, the Gators recorded 23 top-10 program times and slashed five school records.

A Gator name was listed in an A-Final 70 different times, as 19 swimmers helped secure 24 first-place finishes. Overall, Florida earned 17 NCAA A-cut times, while the men recorded 43 B-cut times and the women tallied 41.
The men’s 14 wins were led by senior Julian Smith and junior Josh Liendo, who both earned three individual first-place finishes as well as were both members of Florida’s five winning relay teams. In addition, both broke a program record, as Smith now holds the men’s 100y breaststroke top-time and Liendo sit No. 1 in the men’s 200y butterfly. Sophomore Bella Sims headlined the women’s team, sweeping her three individual events as well as was the leadoff in the Gators three winning relay teams.
Sims reset two of her school records, while senior Julian Smith, junior Josh Liendo and freshman Anita Bottazzo all earned a top spot in an individual event for the first time.

Diving
Camyla Monroy led the Gator diving team, placing top-two in all three diving events. The sophomore closed out her Invitational with a first-place score of 306.30 on Friday’s platform, while earning second on the springboard events. Diving captain Casey Greenberg followed her fellow Gator in second with a 270.50 platform score.
Conor Gesing and Peyton Donald advanced to the finals in both springboard events, as Gesing recorded the men’s only top-three finish. The sophomore finished third on 1-meter with 371.45 on the men’s 1-Meter, while the duo placed in the top-five on the 3-meter. Elisha Dees was the lone Gator to climb the tower, finishing in seventh with a 325.20 score.

Both programs will take a break for winter training before returning to action in the new year for Florida’s first home dual meet against Indiana on Friday, Jan. 3 at 11:00 a.m. During the training period, certain swimmers will head to Greensboro, North Carolina to compete in the US Open from Dec. 4 to Dec. 7, while divers will head to Bloomington, Indiana for the USA Diving Winter National Championships from Dec. 7 through Dec. 15.
