GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Gator student-athletes are achieving their goal of earning a University of Florida degree.
The NCAA Graduation Success Rates (GSR) published Wednesday shows UF is again above the national average. The GSR shows 93 percent of Gators student-athletes completing their degrees in the latest cycle. The Gators’ latest number is above NCAA Division I’s overall GSR, which stands at 91 percent for the second consecutive year – the highest rate recorded in the more two decades GSR has been tracked.<https://www.ncaa.org/news/2022/11/15/media-center-student-athletes-continue-to-graduate-at-record-rates.aspx>
The GSR of 13 Gator teams are above or equal the national average for their sport – men’s & women’s basketball, football, men’s & women’s golf, gymnastics, lacrosse, softball, men’s and women’s swimming & diving, men’s tennis, men’s track & field/cross country and volleyball.
Florida’s nine posting a perfect 100 GSR is one away from the program record set a year ago. Gator teams in this report with a 100 GSR are men’s & women’s basketball, men’s & women’s golf, gymnastics, lacrosse, softball, men’s tennis and volleyball.
Earlier this fall, UF ranked No. 7 in the U.S. News & World Report’s listing of the top national public universities. It was the seventh consecutive year UF ranked among the nation’s top 10. The combined grade point average for all Gator student-athletes for the 2023-24 academic year is an all-time high 3.325 and 126 student-athletes earned bachelor or master degrees in the last academic year.
The most recent Graduation Success Rates are based on the four entering freshmen classes in Division I from 2014-15 to 2017-18.
