Tampa, Fla. – Nov. 19, 2024 – South Florida (3-2) welcomes Jacksonville (3-1) to the Yuengling Center on Wednesday night. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. and the game will air live on ESPN+.
SETTING THE STAGE
The Bulls are looking for their second straight win on Wednesday night, while the Dolphins are attempting to extend their winning streak to three games.
THE SOUTH FLORIDA-JACKSONVILLE SERIES
South Florida holds a 16-0 advantage over Jacksonville in the all-time series. The pairing between the Dolphins and Bulls spans 0back to the 1999-00 season. In the last clash, USF topped JU, 70-59 (Nov. 13, 2022).
LAST TIME OUT
South Florida bested UTRGV, 57-45, on Sunday afternoon in the Yuengling Center. Graduate guard Sammie Puisis (17 points) and graduate forward Ines Piper (15 points) combined for 32 points. Piper’s full stat line consisted of 15 points, a career-best five steals, a season-best three blocks, and seven rebounds. Puisis and senior forward L’or Mputu joined Piper with seven rebounds apiece. Graduate guard Mama Dembele added eight points a season-best five rebounds, and a season-high four steals. Dembele has recorded 3+ assists in 34 straight games, the second-longest active streak in DI, behind Drake’s Katie Dinnebier (48 games).
BEST OF THE BULLS
The Bulls are led by Puisis with a 14.4 scoring average. Mputu holds a team best 6.8 rebound average. Dembele is USF’s top assister with 5.4 apg. (27 total assists tied 13th nationally). Puisis is tied 5th in the nation with 16 total 3-pointers made.
