MIAMI – South Florida’s staple pre-Thanksgiving community event is returning to loanDepot park, as the Miami Marlins and Miami Marlins Foundation team up with Love, Tito’s – the philanthropic heart of Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, and AutoNation for the 15th annual Home Plate Meals Thanksgiving Distribution. Made possible through the support of Feeding South Florida, the annual food distribution serves the Little Havana community by providing 1,000 families with Thanksgiving essentials. Each family will receive meals containing approximately 15 pounds of fixings and a 10-pound turkey.
“This event allows us to come together with our amazing partners to leave a lasting impact that stretches beyond the diamond and baseball season,” said Caroline O’Connor, Marlins President of Business Operations. “We are proud of how the distribution has established itself as a community cornerstone over the years, and I look forward to joining our players, staff, Love, Tito’s, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, and AutoNation for another special edition of the event.”
This year’s distribution will take place on the West Plaza on Friday, November 22 at 4:30 p.m., with opening remarks scheduled for 4 p.m. Marlins President of Baseball Operations Peter Bendix, Marlins Manager Clayton McCullough, Marlins players Anthony Bender and Nick Fortes, and former Marlins great Jeff Conine will join volunteers from the Marlins, Love, Tito’s, Hard Rock Casino & Hotel, and AutoNation in distributing the meals to local families in need. These meals will include traditional Thanksgiving dinner essentials, highlighted by items provided by partners Goya Foods, P.A.N., and Pepsi.
