On Novemeber 17th, at 1 pm, the Jaguars looked outmatched, and unprepared to face the Lions juggernaut of an offense, and was completely suffocated by the defense.
The Jaguars drive down to surrender to taking a FG on their first drive, and the Lions surmount a flawless offensive drive to a David (Knuckles) Montgomery Touchdown. The Lions scored on seven consecutive drives down the field. Ben Johnson called the plays, and Jared Goff leading the offense to almost perfection. Amassing an air assault of 24/29 passing for 412 yards and four touchdowns. While the rushing attack surmounted a rentless 196 yards with 3 touchdowns total (two by Montgomery and 1 by Jahmyr Gibbs).
The receiving dup of Amon-Ra (The Sun God) St. Brown, and Jameson Williams was more than electric. St. Brown had 11 receptions for 161 yards and two touchdowns. While Jameson Williams had four receptions for 124 yards and one Touchdown. Brock Wright added a red zone Touchdown himself.
Defensively, the Lions made a bad team look worse than they are. Kerby Joseph had his seventh interception (leading the NFL this season!) Thus giving the defense another turnover streak. That interception was the 15th of his short career (since 2022, he’s had more than any other safety in the NFL of the same time span). Zadarius Smith had a huge 4th down sack of Mac Jones in his Lions debut since the trade.
Injury Report:
Alex Anzalone MLB broke his forearm in the 2nd quarter and is expected to miss the next six to eight weeks. He’s a tone setter and a team captain. Wish him a speedy recovery. But should be available for the playoffs.
With the Buffalo Bills defeating the Kansas City Chiefs. The Lions have officially claimed the possible title of best team in the NFL! In fact the Lions held the Jaguars to 170 yards of total offense. And they themselves amassed a whopping 645 yards of offense. It has been the first time a NFL team has done that feat since 1979. If it sounded like the Lions just ran up the score, one could say they just executed a flawless gameplan. Good enough to let Hendon Hooker lead the last 2 drives of offense. This was total domination from start to finish. This team is playing like a finely tuned Stratovarius Violin. And the fans in attendance was given the pleasure of seeing it in person.
This was the second time this season the Lions amassed a total score of 52. The second time they held an opponent to single digits themselves while improving to a nine and one record for the first time since 1934.
