IRVING, Texas – The 2024 American Athletic Conference Volleyball Championship bracket has been set, with the South Florida Bulls earning the top overall seed and an outright regular season conference championship following their 3-0 win over UAB to end the season on Sunday.
The American Volleyball Championship returns for the first time since 2020 and will feature the top eight teams in a single elimination tournament at Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kansas. The first round will be played on Friday, November 17, with the semifinals on Saturday, November 18 and the championship match on Sunday, November 19 at 1 p.m. ET/noon central.
All matches will be streamed live on ESPN+. The tournament champion will earn the league’s automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA Division I Volleyball Championship.
In first round matchups, No. 6 Florida Atlantic (16-12, 8-8 American) will take on No. 3 East Carolina (18-8, 11-5 American) to open the tournament at 12 p.m. ET/11 a.m. CT. No. 2 Rice (18-7, 13-3 American) against No. 7 North Texas (10-17, 7-19 American) will follow at 3:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. CT. Top-seed South Florida (18-9, 14-2 American) will take on No. 8 UAB (11-16, 6-10 American) in the third match at 6 p.m. ET/5 p.m. CT, while host and No. 4 seed Wichita State (15-13, 10-6 American) will face off against Tulsa (18-10, 10-6 American) to cap off the first round at 8:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. CT.
