RIDDICK IMPRESSES IN SEASON OPENER

Memphis’ Hannah Riddick put on a dominant display in the season opener on November 4, leading the Tigers to a win with 26 points and 17 rebounds. Both were career-high for Riddick as she recorded her fourth career double-double.

REED ERA STARTS OFF WITH WIN

The Charlotte 49ers began the Tomekia Reed era with a 77-63 win over Presbyterian on opening night to give Reed her first win as the Charlotte head coach.

FERNANDEZ breaks WINS RECORD

Already the owner of the all-time conference wins record in The American, South Florida Head Coach Jose Fernandez broke the all-time wins record on November 7 with a 68-51 win over Mount Saint Mary’s. The win pushed him to 253 wins while coaching in The American, breaking Genor Auriemma’s previous record of 252.

RANKED OPPONENTS ON DECK

Tuesday will feature a pair of ranked opponents for American Athletic Conference teams.  North Texas will travel to the Northwest to take on No. 25 Oregon in Eugene, while Charlotte will head to Columbus to take on No. 12 Ohio State. The Mean Green and Ducks will tip off at 4:30 p.m. ET, while the 49ers and Buckeyes will tip at 7 p.m. ET.

AMERICAN TEAMS HIT THE ROAD

While the first week of action featured 19 home games compared to just six road games for American squads, teams will hit the road for week two as 12 of the games will be on the road in hostile environments.
