The Lions Win Their 3rd Straight Match At Lambeau Field

By: Jeremy T. Ballreich

Sunday, November 2nd, 2024 will now feel like a holiday in Detroit. The Detroit Lions came in to Lambeau Field looking to execute revenge upon the Green Bay Packers. Especially after boasting their win on Thanksgiving last season. The weather tried to remind them, they’re not in a dome. Game time temperature was 50° with wind gusts up to 20 to start the game.

The Packers started out receiving the ball first, and did well executing a drive to the red zone. That resulted in a FG by Brandon McManus. Unfortunately, those three points would be the last time they scored in the half.

Lions drove down as the wind gusts increased to 40+ mph. And in Dan ‘The Gambler’ Campbell fashion, went for a 4th and goal. Jared Goff hits Amon-Ra St. Brown for 2 yard strike. Seven to three Lions lead.

After a pair of punts with each teams second possession. The Lions made a huge stop to drove down for a Jake Bates FG. 10-3. Next drive on 3rd down, Jordan Love was about to be sacked who through it up to avoid it. But Kerby Joseph takes it to the house, 17-3.

The onslaught of scoring for the Lions stopped at 24. Started playing a clock game in the middle of the 3rd quarter. Holding the Green Bay Packer to another 11 points in the half. Seven of those came when it was clear the game was out of reach.

While some say it wasn’t worthy of an ejection, I thought it was from the moment it happened. Have there been worse calls missed, Absolutely. But in real time I thought they were going to call targeting immediately, why the letter of the rule. Curious to see if there will be a fine and or suspension.

The Lionss are 7-1, and a top the NFC Conference overall!
