Cruise Send Returning Rights of Tosan Evbuomwan and a 2024 First Round Pick to San Diego Clippers for a 2024 and 2025 First Round Pick
DETROIT – The Motor City Cruise, NBA G League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, announced today the completion of a trade in which the club acquired the No. 12 overall pick in the 2024 G League Draft (via College Park) and a 2025 first round pick (via Maine) from the San Diego Clippers in exchange for the returning rights of Tosan Evbuomwan and the No. 31 overall pick in the 2024 G League Draft (via Austin).
Evbuomwan 6-7, 217, played a total of 34 games with the Motor City Cruise last season and finished his rookie campaign with averages of 15.1 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 34.2 minutes per game. The Newcastle, U.K., native also saw action in 17 NBA games with the Detroit Pistons and Memphis Grizzlies, tallying 5.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 21.6 minutes per game. The former Princeton Tiger went undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft and signed a two-way contract with the Pistons on Feb. 23, 2024.
Motor City now owns one pick (12th overall) in the 2024 G League Draft. They previously traded their 2024 first round pick (21st overall) and the returning player rights of Keifer Sykes to Long Island for Treveon Graham in September 2023 and traded their 2024 second round pick and the returning rights of Reggie Perry and Devontae Cacok to Osceola for Zavier Simpson in July 2023.
The 2024 G League Draft will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 26. Motor City Cruise training camp is scheduled to begin on Monday, October 28, with the G League Tip-Off Tournament beginning Friday, November 8.
