American Athletic Conference Announces Men’s Soccer Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s soccer awards for the week ending Sunday, October 20.

Offensive Player of the Week

Tyler Richardson, So., M, South Florida

Richardson scored his first career goal with his game-winning goal against Memphis in the 1-0 victory over the Tigers. The win moved the Bulls just one point out of first place in The American.

Defensive Player of the Week

Ryan Dunn, Gr., D, Charlotte

Dunn anchored the Charlotte backline that allowed just two shots on goal against Tulsa, while also assisting on the game-winning goal.


Goalkeeper of the Week

Felix Schaefer, Gr., South Florida

Schaefer finished with a clean sheet in the 1-0 win over Memphis, ending the night with four saves to capture his fifth shutout of the season.

Freshman of the Week

Nathan Brown, Fr., F, Temple

Brown scored the second of two goals in the 2-0 win over Mercyhurst.


Honorable Mention

Leo Stritter, Jr., GK, Charlotte

Striter registered two saves in the 1-0 shutout of Tulsa. He now has eight shutouts on the season.

Aboubacar Traore, Jr., F, Florida Atlantic

Traore finished with two assists on the week, providing one in both wins against FGCU and FIU.

Lukas Egarter, So., M, Temple

Egarter provided two assists in the 2-0 win over Mercyhurst.

Kemali Green, Gr., D, Temple

Green played a crucial role on defense, anchoring a backline that allowed just three shots on goal in the 1-0 win over UAB.

Andrew Kempe, Gr., GK, Temple

Kempe finished with two saves in the 1-0 win over UAB to capture his third clean sheet of the season.
