Oakland Park completes sidewalks

The City of Oakland Park celebrated the completion of the Safe Routes to School sidewalk project in the Prospect Gardens neighborhood with a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on October 2nd. The project features the installation of approximately 14,750 feet of sidewalks, crosswalks, ADA-compliant ramps, and curbs, providing a safer route for students walking to Lloyd Estates Elementary School. This is Oakland Park’s thirdelementary school sidewalk project. Together with new sidewalks surrounding Floranada Elementary and Oakland Park Elementary, the city is ensuring its youngest residents have a safe and reliable way to get to and from school

The City of Oakland Park is preparing to celebrate the opening of the new Fire Rescue Station 9! Join us on Friday, November 1st at 11 a.m. at 599 Park Lane East at NE 6th Avenue in Oakland Park. Fire Station 9 is the second new building and third project completed under Oakland Park’s Building Our 2nd  Century bond initiative to create new facilities and amenities leading up to the City’s centennial in 2029.

The City of Fort Lauderdale is working with David Mancini and Sons, Inc. to install 17,600 feet of new water main from the Prospect Lake Clean Water Center to the Fiveash Water Treatment Plant in Fort Lauderdale, Tamarac, and Oakland Park. This project includes installing a new 48-inch-diameter water main utilizing open-cut and trenchless construction methods and resurfacing the roadway in areas where open-cut construction takes place. During construction, one lane in each direction of NW 31st Avenue, Perimeter Road, NW 21st Avenue, NW 56th Street, NW 55th Court, Prospect Road, and NW 10th Avenue within the project limits may be closed.
