Boy, What A Cost Winning Has!

By: Jeremy T. Ballreich

October 13th, 2024 the Detroit Lions came in and decided the Dallas Cowboys were no longer tying them to the whipping post any longer. Even though Dallas Started off with FG drive. Detroit responded with a David Montgomery TD, a Pick in the redzone by Brian Branch, and a FG of their own before Dallas realized what was happening.

The Lions ran the ball so well, the defense started to become as cooked at the Cowboys running game was. The passing game didn’t amount to much either.
Third quarter came with the Lions with a 34-6 lead, when the cost of this win took its toll. Aiden Hutchinson while sacking Dak Prescott, had friendly fire from a pressuring Alim McNeil hit his shin. Which ultimately broke his Tibia and Fibia, possibly ending his season.

Sources close to Aiden Hutchinson says that there was no ligament, nerve, or tendon damage. But surgery was required to put a metal rod in his leg. Returning this season is doubtful. Meanwhile, the Lions continued to have an impressive performance on both sides of the ball.

The Cowboys have struggled to get the run going (24th in the league), or even stop the run (28th in the league). The Lions have the 4th best run Defense, and did have the (14th passing defense). We saw the entire Lions defense get a whopping 68.5% pressure win rate as a team. With sacks from Alim McNeil (Two), Aiden Hutchinson (One), and waiver wire pick up, Trevor Nowaske (One). Brian Branch had a day and our number one ranked player by Pro Football Focus with 91.5 rating. 2 Interceptions and a forced fumble (Recovered by Terrion Arnold). Kerby Joseph got another interception in the end zone.
