American Athletic Conference Announces Men’s Soccer Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s soccer awards for the week ending Sunday, September 29.

Offensive Player of the Week

Chris Dommer, Jr., F, Charlotte

Dommer registered three points in the 4-1 win over South Florida, scoring a goal in the 80th minute before assisting on another in the 84th minute.

Defensive Player of the Week

Daniel Moore, Sr., D, Charlotte

Moore assisted on the Charlotte’s first two goals in the 4-1 win over South Florida. He also anchored a back line that allowed just three shots on goal.

Goalkeeper of the Week

Filip Sabatti, Jr., Memphis

Sabatti recorded five saves in the 2-0 win over UAB, recording his first clean sheet of the season.

Freshman of the Week

Elias Arswoll, Fr., F, Charlotte

Arsvoll scored a goal and added an assist for the 49ers in the 4-1 win over South Florida.


Honorable Mention

Lucas Rizzo, So., F, UAB

Rizzo scored two goals in a 2-1 victory over Louisville.

Noah Kvifte, Gr., F, Florida Atlantic

Kvifte scored the equalizer goal in the 1-1 draw against Temple.

David Houja, Fr., D, FIU

Houja hit the game-winning goal against Tulsa, his first as a Panther.

Jackson Kim, Gr., D, Memphis

Kim anchored a backline that allowed just five shots on goal.

Luciano Galizzi, 5th, F, Memphis

Galizzi scored the first goal of the game in a 2-0 win over UAB.
