American Athletic Conference Announces 2024-25 Women’s Basketball Conference Schedule

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has released its 2024-25 women’s basketball conference schedule.
 
The league schedule features each of The American’s 13 members competing in an 18-game conference slate. Every team in The American will play six of its 12 conference opponents twice and the other six once – three at home and three on the road.
 
The 2024-25 season will be The American’s fifth under its media rights extension with ESPN, in which seven women’s basketball games will appear on ESPN’s linear networks in 2024-25.
 
The remaining conference-controlled games will be on ESPN+, the industry-leading sports streaming service which reaches more than 25 million subscribers and is available at espnplus.com.

All games that are televised on an ESPN network will also be available on the ESPN App to authenticated pay TV subscribers.
 
Since The American’s inaugural season in 2013-14, the conference has earned 21 bids to the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship and compiled a 46-18 record in the tournament.
 
Five programs earned postseason bids in 2023-24. Rice was selected for the NCAA Championship after winning its first American Athletic Conference Tournament championship. North Texas and Tulsa earned bids to the inaugural Women’s Basketball Invitational (WBIT), while UAB and UTSA were selected for the WNIT.

 
Conference play begins for The American on Sunday, Dec. 29 with six games – Tulsa at Charlotte, UAB at South Florida, Florida Atlantic at East Carolina, North Texas at Tulane, Rice at Temple and UTSA at Wichita State.
 
The 2025 American Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Championship returns to Dickies Arena in Fort Worth on March 8-12. The tournament games will appear on the linear ESPN Networks and on ESPN+.
 
The American will preview the 2024-25 season Oct. 13 when the league hosts its Basketball Media Day on ESPN+. Coverage from The Westin Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas in Irving will begin at 9 a.m. Eastern.
 
Tip-off times and television designations will be announced at a later date.
