IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly cross-country awards for the week ending Sunday, September 15.
Men’s Athlete of the Week
Maddon Muhammad, R-Jr., Charlotte
Muhammad took first place at the Iona Meet of Champions, completing the 8,000-meter race with a time of 25:20.8. Muhammad’s first place finish helped lead the 49ers to a first-place team finish in a meet that featured 15th-ranked Iona.
Women’s Athlete of the Week
Chloe Hershenow, R-Sr., Tulsa
Hershenow took him first place in the 5,000-meter run at the Wichita State JK Gold Classic. The Golden Hurricane took home a first-place team finish, defeating American Athletic Conference foes North Texas and Wichita State along the way.
