9/15/2024 | Women’s Soccer | Box Score BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic’s women’s soccer team recorded their second shutout of the season on Sunday evening against SEMO to give Head Coach Patrick Baker his 350th win. The Owls improve their record to 1-5-2 on the season. For the first time since 2022, Florida Atlantic had four different goal scorers in a single game. Freshman Ashley Small registered her second start in the net on the season. Florida Atlantic scored first in the 12th minute of the game when senior Jodi Smith connected with the back of the net for her second career goal. For the first time this season, the Owls ended the first half ahead, leading 1-0 with 12 shots. Forward Sloane Young scored in the first four minutes of the second half from Emmy Schleifer to extend the lead. Schleifer joins Michelle Horan in assists on the season with one each. In the 62nd minute, Horan kicked a laser into the top corner of the net for her second goal of the year. With 10 minutes remaining, senior Drew Dempsey notched another goal to extend the lead to 4-0 for the Owls. Horan and Dempsey are now the leading goal scorers on the season for Florida Atlantic, with two each. Small recorded her first collegiate career shutout on her birthday with two saves on the night. She totals five saves in two games.
