BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University women’s soccer’s Anniina Sankoh has been recognized by the D2CCA as a First Team All-South Region Forward, the program’s first First Team nod since 2011.
The sophomore forward from Helsinki, Finland led the SSC in nearly all the major offensive categories, ranking first in shots (81), points (43) and goals (19). Nine of those goals came in conference play, highlighted by a three-goal performance in Lynn’s must-win matchup in the final regular season game against Florida Tech. Her outstanding play garnered her First Team All-SSC honors, as announced on Nov. 13.
A transfer from American International College, Sankoh also earned First Team All-Conference recognition last season at AIC from the NE10. Additionally, she was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Third Team in 2018.
Sankoh is Lynn’s first All-Region selection on the First Team since Melissa Ortiz earned the same honor during the 2011 campaign. Her 19 goals are the most by a member of the Blue and White since Jannie Nicolaisen netted 26 goals in 1998.
