UF WGOLF | Gators Climb Five Spots on Final Day, Finish 4th

Elaine Widjaja (T8), Jessica Guiser (T13), and Addison Klonowski (T18) all made their collegiate debuts this week and placed T18 or better.

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Florida women’s golf team climbed five spots on the final day of the season opener at the Cougar Classic to finish tied for 4th on Tuesday.

Three Gators – Elaine Widjaja (T8), Jessica Guiser (T13), and Addison Klonowski (T18) – made their collegiate debuts this week and placed T18 or better.  The group also combined for five under-par rounds and 30 birdies with Widjaja posting a 4-under 67 and Guiser a 3-under 68. Klonowski had a pair of 1-under-70s.

Widjaja led the team in birdies with 11 and recorded a 54-hole score of 2-under 211 as Guiser was even overall and Klonowski a stroke back at 1-over 213.

Florida shot its best round of the tournament in the final round with a 2-over 286 and moved up to finish in a four-way tie for 4th with Boston College, Miami and SMU.

Sophomore Inès Archer placed T26, one shot back of recording a top-25. She was followed by Paula Francisco (T53) and Sarunchana Rattanasin (T85).

Florida returns to action Sept. 22-23 at the Mary Fossum Invitational at Forest Akers West in East Lansing, Mich.
